ACTIVITIES OF IIM RANCHI CHAPTER
The
Chapter organizes a number of technical activities during the year.
The major activities include:

Technical Talks
Normally 4 to 6 technical talks by eminent invited speakers are
organised every year.
Seminars/Conferences
Every
year, at least one seminar/conference is organised either in
national or international levels. Contemporary and relevant topics
are covered for the benefit of members.
Metals & Materials Quiz
One
inter-school 'Metals and Materials quiz is |

organised involving most
of the prestigious schools of Ranchi. The winning
team (s) is sponsored to take part in the national level quiz -
Prof. Brahm Prakash Memorial quiz/held at Kalpakkam.
Awards
Every year the chapter gives "Awards of Excellence" to young working
scientists/engineers for their significant contributions, awards for
best technical paper(s). In addition, the chapter has a tradition of
felicitating senior metallurgists/engineers for their outstanding
contributions to the cause of the chapter.
Industrial Visits
From time to time, the chapter organises day-long industrial visits
to various ferrous and no-ferrous industries located in and around
Ranchi. Often these visits are in the form of Post-Conference visits
when interested delegates to various national/international
conferences join the IIM members of the chapter for the industrial
visits.
Annual General Meeting (AGM)
The AGM is
held every year during June/July. Secretary's Report and Audited
Accounts of the Chapter are presented and selection of new Executive
Committee is made in the AGM.
